Alessio Carnevale, Valley Craft Gelato owner and gelato-maker, originally hails from Calabria, Italy. With Valley Craft Gelato, Alessio meshes and displays his love for, and mastery of, one of his homeland’s iconic frozen delicacies with his now-California roots, through artisanal gelato made with some hyper-local ingredients. Alessio features a rotating roster of seasonal, signature flavors such as Santa Barbara Pistachio and Lemon Zest, Roasted Coconut and White Chocolate, Honey and Lavender, and Fig Sorbetto, introducing new creations on a regular basis. He also keeps in regular rotation an array of his most popular flavors, like Vanilla Bean, Salted Caramel, Tiramisu, Dark Chocolate, and Espresso.

Valley Craft Gelato may be found in Santa Ynez Valley eateries and gourmet goods retail locations, such as S.Y. Kitchen (in Santa Ynez) and the new Mattei’s Tavern in Los Olivos, with additional retail and restaurant locations coming soon…

Currently operating out of a catering kitchen in the town of Santa Ynez, Alessio aims to grow towards a Santa Ynez Valley storefront.
